Twisted Double Crochet

When working in double crochet (US terms), I never use a chain-three to start a new row or round. It looks horrible in both cases.

I came with the Twisted Double Crochet (tdc) a few years ago, and since then, it has been adopted by crafters and designers all over the world.

This little square was made using the twisted double crochet. I am sure you will agree that it looks much better than a starting chain. In fact, you will have to look really close to see where each round started.

If you are a right-handed hooker, use these two video tutorials. The first is for the twisted double crochet in rows. The second is for the twisted double crochet in rounds.
