As you can see, taking photos of new designs are very difficult when most of your belongings are in storage! I can’t even complain about it, as this is totally my choice of life right now. Just to give you a giggle, that beautiful piece of wood holding the cowl is a massively long wooden spoon that travels with us. And that spectacular view? That is our view for the next three months just outside Piketberg in the Western Cape.
I knitted this cowl for my daughter in law and used Happy-Go-Knitty Kashi that I purchased in New Zealand. It is a blend of 50% Merino and 50% Silk. The silk is the cause of the slight lustre.

This little cowl is classically beautiful as it is knitted in one of the many variations of Old Shale, also known as Feather and Fan. The pointy edges are automatically created by the stitch pattern. It is easy enough to memorise, yet it looks intricate.
You can find the pattern HERE.
This is the second last pattern in the series. There is only one more project to add.
So, what comes next? Well, do you remember the crocheted ruana I have mentioned a few months ago? That concept is finally done in my head, and I cannot wait to grab my crochet hook and start. Watch this space.
