Description
This is the hat I wore when I had no hair. The more you wear it, the more it relaxes, and the slouchier it becomes. Eventually it will need a wash. I made all of mine in super-wash Merino and gave it a light tumble dry after the wash, which resulted in just a slight shrink back to the original size. Then the whole cycle starts again!
The other nice thing about this hat, is that it has space for those with thick and curly hair.
I seldom buy yarn thicker than fingering, so this hat was designed with two strands of fingering yarn held together. You can obviously substitute that for a double knit or aran weight yarn which will be about 160 m /100g.
Don’t think you will make just one of these. It knits up fast and easy and makes a stunning gift.
You will need:
- ± 100 g Sock Yarn (±325 m / 100 g) (work with yarn held double)
- 4 mm circular knitting pins
- 5 mm circular knitting pins
- 8 stitch markers
