Wacky Weave Tutorial

This tutorial is a complete interlocking tutorial, with a border. The pattern demonstrated is a coaster with a Celtic Knot on. You have to learn to read the pattern, so download the pattern before you start. If you need help, join the Ilona Slow Life Creations group on Facebook.

The rules of Wacky Weave

  • Use smooth yarn. Textured yarns do not work well.
  • Use strong contrasting colours to make it easier initially.
  • Avoid variegated yarns initially.
  • You will NEVER use MC, to crochet into a CC stitch, or vice versa.
  • The pattern is always open filet, in both colours, woven into each other.
  • The number of CC windows, will always be one less, than the number of MC windows.
  • You will always end with a MC row.

Tutorial for right-handed crocheters

At the 10:18 mark, I referred to dciF instead of dciB. The stitch is made is correct, I used the wrong name. Apologies for that.

At the 31:37 mark, I referred to row 2B instead of row 3B.
