I haven’t enjoyed a design this much in a long, long time. Everything was just great! I had awesome yarn to work with. The design just flowed with minimal frogging. The tester team was a joy to work with. And the end result is everything I had hoped for, plus more!
This sweater is knitted top down in one piece. Initially you will work back and forth in rows, until you join to knit in the round when the Henley slip is done. This is a plain stocking-stitch pattern. As such it lends itself to variegated yarns or stripes in different colours. As there are no difficult stitch patterns, this is the perfect design for newbie knitters who haven’t yet made any garments.
This photo shows the power of a Measure & Make pattern. You start with the neck circumference of the person who will be wearing the sweater, and with minimal math, you can knit this for any body size you like, from a new born baby, or even a doll, to a large adult male. That is value for money! One pattern for all sizes.
For the terracotta version, I used Colourspun Merino Sock and Colourspun Kidsilk together, on 5 mm needles. This combination is one I will use again in the future. The luxury given by the Kidsilk is just amazing.
For little Abi, I used Knotty Habit DK on 4 mm needles. I ran out of the speckled yarn but the mustard on the sleeves is a perfect match for the mustard speckles, so problem solved! I was under strict instructions to make hers a little bit too big, as the winter in Sweden is still coming.
