My crazy colour yarns

I have a problem. A serious problem. I buy yarn.

I am sure that either got your smiling, nodding, or both!

The fact of the matter is that I often buy only one hank of yarn simply because I either like the fiber content, or the colour. Usually it is the colour that draws me. And usually it is a variegated yarn that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I see the joyful mix of colours playing in the yarn. I seldom buy yarn because I have a specific project in mind. The result is that I often sit with odd hanks of yarn that I really don’t know what to do with.

That got me thinking. I should really spend some time designing smaller projects for those odd balls. Obviously hats and scarves come to mind and I will surely design some of those. Small projects are always welcome and make nice gifts too.

But…. what if I could use two of my crazy variegateds together?

Imagine a cowl made with these two variegated yarns. Shocking idea. I know.

I am going to do just that. Would you like to know why? I stumbled upon a genius way to alternate yarn while knitting in the round, without any visible effect! You can’t see it on the right side, and wait for it….. neither can you see it on the wrong side!

These two balls of yarn are perfect for a simple cowl with a tutorial on alternating yarns while knitting in the round. So that is exactly what this unlikely couple will become.

I am going to cast it on, right now.
